An ear pillow is a specially designed pillow with a hole in it. Also known as an apertured pillow. Such pillows remove friction and pressure from the ear while lying down. It also allows people to sleep comfortably with ear piercings, earplugs and earphones, or to keep the weight off a tender ear, including after ear surgery. 

We find The Original P.W.A.H® is best used on top of your regular pillow. This way you get the loft and neck support you’re used to whilst also benefiting from the ear support of the Original P.W.A.H®.

Conversely, The P.W.A.H V2™ works very well as a standalone pillow, but it can also be used on top of a regular pillow if you are used to a certain loft. 

CNH, also known as Chondrodermatitis or Winkler’s Disease, is a chronic progressive condition affecting the ear. It is caused by friction and pressure acting against the skin of the ear over time. As we age, our skin becomes less resilient and less able to heal itself. This combined with the friction and pressure of a regular pillow can result in the gradual degradation of the ear's skin, and therefore a pressure sore forms. The Original Pillow with a Hole simply keeps the weight off the ear while you sleep on your side, so nothing presses on that spot.

Yes, we ship worldwide from our Liverpool workshop. All pillows are made here in England and sent tracked via the Royal Mail. 

The Royal Mail then hands over to your national postal service. 

We make all of our pillows to order and are typically able to dispatch within two to three working days after you make your purchase. Please allow for weekends.

All timeframes are from dispatch. We ship with Royal Mail Tracked and you will receive tracking by email.

• UK: 1–2 working days

• Europe: typically 5–8 working days

• USA & Canada: typically 4–7 working days (delivered by USPS/Canada Post)

• Rest of world: usually 7–14 working days

USA
No surprises on your doorstep. For US orders we add the import tariff at checkout, so your order arrives with nothing more to pay.

EU
Because the UK is no longer in the EU, your order may be charged import VAT and a small handling fee on arrival. If you receive an unexpected bill, contact us with a copy of the invoice and we will pay 50% as a goodwill gesture.

Rest of world
Local import charges may apply and are the buyer’s responsibility unless stated otherwise.

If you're an overseas customer, you will not need to pay any sales tax at the point of purchase. The price you see is the price you pay. 

This differs from Import Duty and is country specific. Check your country's import allowance for further information. 

Our pillows can be found in a number of small businesses around the world. However, because we make most of our pillows to order, it would not be practical to keep large amounts of stock overseas, so ordering direct is usually necessary. 

Yes — that’s one of the main advantages of the pillow. Open the YKK® zip and add or remove filling until the height and firmness suit you: take some out for a lower, softer feel, or add more for firmer support. It’s worth experimenting over a few nights to find what works for your shoulder and sleeping position. You can machine wash and dry your pillow.

Simply put it in the machine at 30°C and then tumble dry it. If you put a tennis ball in with the pillow during drying, this will facilitate an even distribution of the stuffing and aid fluffing. For more information, see our Care Instructions.
