Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery so I suppose we can only take it as a compliment that we have discovered that there are several factories in China counterfeiting “The Original Pillow With A Hole”.

While flattering, this is of course highly disturbing. We are only human, how could it not? And we have worked very, very hard to first invent, then design and ultimately produce these pillows.

This is a labour of love and the very lifeblood of our family. I’ll be damned if we’re going to surrender all that hard work to some greedy and thoughtless copycats on the other side of the planet.

That being said; we aren’t completely powerless, we have plenty of design rights and patents, and frankly – if a factory in China can do what we do but better then I’m not sure we deserve to be in business in the first place!

We will of course fight with all the legal tools at our disposal, but counterfeits are nothing new. All successful companies suffer them. It is simply a fact of life. Another fact of life, indeed almost a natural law, is that counterfeits are always of lesser quality than the original. There’s no innovation, no artistry, no love or care. It’s a transparently cheap punt and everyone knows it.

So I’m not going to lose too much sleep over it. Things like this always spur us on to improve and we have legitimately always come out stronger for such competition.

So from us you can expect us to not only maintain the highest standards of quality, innovation and customer service, but to expand upon it. When you purchase a pillow from us, you’re not just buying a textile product from a faceless factory 10,000 miles away, you’re buying it from us. And we will see you right.
